Since 1983 Sri Lanka Islamic Centre is associated with Islamic Development Bank (IDB) scholarship / SLMT (Local scholarship) programmes. It has been funding undergraduate’s students studying in Universities of Sri Lanka particularly in Medicine, Engineering, Vet nary services, Dental and Agriculture among others. Due to this benevolent funding a large number of underprivileged Muslim students have been benefited thru this scholarship and they are now professionally qualified in their respective fields and gained fully employed in Government institutions

There are currently active student’s totals 70
All Graduates & Undergraduates who gain employment will re-pay the scholarship amount paid to them in order for the centre to utilize the amount to pay for the SLMT local scholarship, Graduates and Undergraduates.
They receive two quarter scholarship annually. The IDB Graduate Association which is one of the arm wing of Sri Lanka Islamic Centre. Furthermore the graduates who have completed respective courses conduct various workshop programmes to assist and develop the underprivileged Muslims community particularly in Education and Health field in Sri Lanka. The IDB activities are organized and implemented with the association of Sri Lanka Islamic Centre and Islamic Education Trust.
